Liz Cheney Endorses Colin Allred in His Campaign to Beat Ted Cruz

AUSTIN – Today during a TribFest interview, former Congresswoman Liz Cheney endorsed Congressman Colin Allred in his campaign to unseat Ted Cruz.

During their time serving together in the House, they cosponsored more than 50 bills together including measures supporting veterans and first-responders as well as strengthening our national security.

“Congresswoman Cheney is a patriot and I am honored to have her support,” said Allred. “Though we may not agree on everything, we’ve been able to find common ground by putting our country over political parties. Importantly, we both believe in protecting our democracy, our constitution and the foundational promise of our great country. And we both agree that Texans cannot afford six more years of Ted Cruz.”

Allred has been named the most bipartisan member of the Texas delegation by the non-partisan Common Ground Committee. 70% of all legislation he supports is supported by both Democrats and Republicans. Allred was one of just 32 Democrats endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in his House re-election campaign and received their Jefferson-Hamilton Award for his bipartisanship. He has championed major bipartisan legislation delivering for Texas, like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPs and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.
