Get the Facts: Ted Cruz Ranked One of the Most Partisan Senators in Modern History
DALLAS – Senator Ted Cruz has spent 12 years in the Senate serving as one of the most partisan senators this century.
The Houston Chronicle reported that Cruz has been ranked one of the most partisan U.S. senators in the modern history of America.
- “In assessing 250 members of the Senate since 1993, [the nonpartisan Lugar Center] rated Cruz as the 245th most bipartisan. That put him just ahead of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.”
At every opportunity, Cruz votes no, even breaking with fellow Republicans to vote against what’s best for Texas:
- He voted NO on the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act, which Senator John Cornyn supported, then repeatedly celebrated the funding he voted against.
- He voted NO on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act written by Cornyn, which took on the cartels by targeting gun smuggling.
- He voted NO on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, then took credit for projects it funded.
