Allred will be joined by Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, former State Senator Wendy Davis, and TX-15 congressional candidate Michelle Vallejo.
Currently, Texas women are unable to access emergency abortion care in their state, even if their life is at risk. In some jurisdictions, Texas women can even be prosecuted for attempting to flee the state to get the care they need.

On the call, the group will talk about the devastating impacts Texas’ total abortion ban is having on women – as well as how in the Senate, Colin Allred will fight to restore this fundamental right for Texas women.
Ted Cruz is among the most extreme members of the Senate on taking away a woman’s right to choose. He has fought for years to overturn Roe v. Wade, called Dobbs a “massive victory”, and explicitly supports an abortion ban with no exceptions. Additionally, Cruz is the author of the extreme national abortion ban proposal.
There will be an open Q&A portion at the end of the press call.
