Marking the 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Allred Holds Press Call to Discuss the State of Abortion Access in Texas
Dallas, TX — Marking the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Congressman Colin Allred held a press call to discuss the state of abortion access in Texas. Allred was joined on the call by Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, former State Senator Wendy Davis, and TX-15 congressional candidate Michelle Vallejo.

“When I’m elected to the US Senate, we will codify Roe v. Wade and go back to allowing women to make their own health care decisions in consultation with their faith, their family, and their doctors – not politicians,” Allred said on the call. “I will always fight to protect a woman’s constitutional right to interstate travel without government interference – which is something I didn’t really think that we would have to be having a discussion about in 2024.”
In Congress, Allred has voted to codify Roe’s protections into national law. Ted Cruz is among the most extreme members of the Senate on taking away a woman’s right to choose. He has fought for years to overturn Roe v. Wade, called Dobbs a “massive victory”, and explicitly supports an abortion ban with no exceptions. Additionally, Cruz is the author of the extreme national abortion ban proposal.
