ICYMI: Allred Sweeps Major Texas Newspaper Endorsements
DALLAS – On Sunday, Congressman Colin Allred earned the endorsement of the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram editorial boards in his campaign to beat Ted Cruz. Allred also earned the endorsement of the San Antonio Express-News and the Houston Chronicle, completing his sweep of every major Texas newspaper editorial board that chose to endorse this primary cycle.
Dallas Morning News: “Allred stands apart from the field as the most capable leader and with the most nuanced and serious policy plans. Most important, he is the singular candidate who gives Democrats hope to unseat incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz.”
Fort Worth Star-Telegram: “U.S. Rep. Colin Allred of Dallas, whose mild manner and bipartisan approach make him the best choice to possibly win the race and the most likely to be an accomplished senator.”
Houston Chronicle: “Allred, we believe, is more likely to be a doer in the Senate. We enthusiastically endorse his candidacy.”
San Antonio Express-News: “Allred stood out for his six years of experience in Congress, depth of knowledge on federal and international issues, history as a bipartisan and independent lawmaker, and more moderate approach.”
Additionally, Allred also earned the endorsement of the Texas AFL-CIO, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the Human Rights Campaign, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, the College Democrats of America, the League of Conservation Voters, Foreign Policy for America, and End Citizens United // Let America Vote.
