ICYMI: Allred on the Consequences of Texas’ Total Abortion Ban: ‘This is what it looks like when extremists get their way’
Dallas, TX — In case you missed it, last night, Congressman Colin Allred spoke with MSNBC’s Alicia Menendez on the horrific real-world consequences Texas women are today facing due to our state’s total abortion ban, which extremists like Ted Cruz fought for years to enact.
In the interview, Allred says, “This is what it looks like when extremists get their way: when abortion is banned in basically every case in the state of Texas.”
He goes on to pledge: “When I’m in the United States Senate, we will codify Roe v. Wade and we will supersede laws like this in Texas that are turning Texas women into prisoners in their own state.”

Ted Cruz – who has still yet to comment on Cox v. Texas – is among the most extreme members of the Senate on taking away a woman’s right to choose.
Cruz fought for years to overturn Roe v. Wade, called Dobbs a “massive victory,” and explicitly supports an abortion ban with no exceptions. Additionally, he is the author of the extreme national abortion ban proposal.
