Allred Launches Second General Election Ad, Focused on Lowering Costs for Texans

“I remember mom was always cutting coupons. At the store, we’d swipe the debit card and say a little prayer”

DALLAS – Today, Congressman Colin Allred launched his second ad of the general election, focused on lowering costs for Texas families. The ad will run across TV markets in Houston, San Antonio, Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen and Laredo starting Tuesday, June 11.

As a fourth-generation Texan, raised by a single mom who was a teacher in Dallas and worked two jobs to make ends meet, Allred is deeply committed to lowering health care and housing costs for working families.

During his time in Congress, he has worked to cap the cost of insulin at $35lower out-of-pocket drug costs for people on Medicare and has been recognized for his leadership in protecting and expanding affordable health care, Social Security and Medicare benefits – which Ted Cruz has repeatedly voted to cut. He has also stood up to corporations for driving up costs, and voted to provide affordable housing for veterans.

“Lower Costs” TV Ad Script:

I remember mom was always cutting coupons. At the grocery store, we’d swipe the debit card and say a little prayer.

That’s why I’ve worked in Congress to bring down prices for Texas families.

Lowering drug costs for seniors and capping insulin at $35 a month.

As your Senator, I’ll hold corporations accountable for jacking up prices. And work to bring down the cost of health care and housing.

I’m Colin Allred, and I approve this message, because I’ll never forget what higher prices mean for your family.
