Allred in New Ad: “What’s Ted Cruz fought for? Himself”

DALLAS – Today, Congressman Colin Allred launched a new ad in his race against Ted Cruz, titled “No Pain.” The ad highlights Allred’s background earning a scholarship to play football at Baylor, where he was captain of the football team before playing in the NFL, becoming a voting rights attorney and serving in Congress. In the ad, Allred holds Cruz accountable for going too far and hurting Texans including when he left Texans freezing in the dark to fly to Cancun and fighting to raise the retirement age and cut Social Security and Medicare

The ad will begin airing in the Dallas, Houston, Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen and San Antonio TV markets starting Tuesday, September 17. Allred continues to advertise on TV and is up in half the markets across Texas including Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Tyler, Beaumont, Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen, Corpus Christi and Abilene. He is airing ads in English and Spanish and is also advertising statewide on digital platforms.

“No Pain” Ad Script:

Congressman Colin Allred:

Football Hurts. I’ve got a plate and two screws in my neck to prove it.

I was Captain at Baylor, I get it. No pain, no gain.

You got to fight for it.

What’s Ted Cruz fought for? Himself. This is the guy who fled to Cancun while Texans were stuck at home freezing.

He wants to raise the retirement age for hardworking Texans who depend on Social Security and Medicare.

Now that hurts.

I’m Colin Allred and I approve this message because Ted Cruz only cares about Ted Cruz.

 I’m fighting for Texas.
