Allred Celebrates Billion-Dollar Investment in Texas Solar Energy Production Made Possible by the Inflation Reduction Act
Dallas, TX — Today, Congressman Colin Allred released the following statement celebrating the news of Waaree Energies announcing it would be investing $1 billion to build a new solar energy factory in Brookshire, creating more than 1,500 Houston-area jobs:
“Today’s announcement is great news for Texas, and this $1 billion investment in solar manufacturing is exactly why I was proud to support the Inflation Reduction Act. This facility will create jobs and grow our energy economy right here in Texas, helping cement us as an energy leader. I look forward to delivering more big projects like this for Texas.”
The Affordable Care Act protects health care access for the 5 million Texans living with pre-existing conditions and provides insurance coverage for nearly 2.5 million Texans.
Allred has long championed measures to strengthen and build upon the ACA, including by lowering insurance premiums, bringing down the cost of prescription drugs, and capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for patients on Medicare. Ted Cruz has tried for years to dismantle the ACA – and just last month reiterated his desire to do so.
